HARBOR DANCE PERFORMING GROUP 2011-2012

Performing Group provides dancers increased performance opportunities and instruction. PG is generally open to students, ages 7 -18 and requires audition or initiation.
PG performs at various local venues and participates in 1-3 (depending on parent decision) quality dance conventions which hold competitions, and 1-2 competitions. At the conventions, dancers learn technique by taking intensive class workshops from master instructors from Los Angeles and New York. At competitions, dancers are judged by qualified adjudicators on their abilities.

Dancers perform and compete in the genres of their interest; jazz/lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre, tap and hip-hop (select groups—Jr. hip-hop has already been selected).  Participation in tap and hip-hop is not required.  Dancers must demonstrate maturity and leadership capabilities within their classes and represent Harbor Dance positively when performing with the team.  Our 2011/2012 Performing Group is directed by Simone Peterson and Giselle Lorenz and is supported by a dedicated team of parent volunteers and includes choreographers: Giselle Lorenz, Simone Peterson, Paula Johnson, and Dawn DelCastillo.

A Choreography and technique intensive clinic will be conducted August 22-25, and the cost will be around $120 for the week.
Fees Due 8/15 for PG Participation:
Choreography week August 22-25:   $120
Custom embroidered Jacket: $80

Monthly fees for participation (September - June) are in addition to tuition:
$ 80 per month--This covers the 1.25 hour rehearsal each week. This cost is in addition to their tuition for classes. 20% sibling discount will still apply if multiple members of the same family wish to participate.  The cost for students on 'unlimited' is $65 per month.
There will be fees for each competition/convention we choose to go to and these will be discussed at the parent meeting.
There will be a choreography fee of $15 per dancer per group routine they will do. This helps cover the cost of the choreographer/instructor’s pay.
Additionally, there are opportunities for Solo, Duets, Trios, and Quartets based on teacher recommendations, if your child is interested. The fee structure is as follows:
Solo:  $25 per 30 minute private, $50 per hour-long private lesson.
Duet:  $15 per dancer per 30 minute semi- private; $30 per dancer per hour-long semi-private lesson.
Trios:  $10 per dancer per 30 minute semi-private; $20 per dancer per hour-long semi-private lesson.
Quartets: Same cost as Trios.

Studio rental fee for independent practice is $10 per hour for soloist, $ 20 per hour for groups and is available to all studio dancers.

Students who participate are strongly encouraged to independently arrange studio time to practice so they can fully and effectively use privates to learn not practice!
